arrived first. He approached the clearing
cautiously, for he remembered Asoka's tale of a
battle. The clearing indeed showed signs of
struggle. The grass was scarred with ruts and
blood. An evil pall hung over the place. And, there, near the shrine
-- the bloodied corpse of an old man. Beside him
sat two documents.
Kikuchi Kentaro,
weapon at the ready, walked to the corpse and
found beside it two documents. One appeared to be
a page torn from a journal. The second was a
hastily scrawled message.

| The rest of the
group soon arrived: Anangikage, Ma Zhirui. Then,
Iwata and Talon Loneblade, with Akemi. They pored
over the documents, wondering what to do next.
The group soon remembered Basho Genji's warnings
about the abandoned outpost above Shoushi. Had
the cult taken up residence there, to watch over
the Sho city? The group departed. |
